Discretion is the service, not a feature of it

How we protect your privacy

People contact us about the things they have told nobody. What follows is exactly how your information is handled — not a policy document, but the practical answer to "will anyone find out I called".

Will anyone find out I contacted you?

Short answer No. We contact you only through the channel and at the times you choose, we call from a discreet number, we never make unprompted contact, and nothing is ever sent to your home. If you tell us to use one channel and nothing else, that is what happens.

This is the first question almost everyone asks, and it is a reasonable one. Someone investigating a partner, an employee or a business associate is often in a position where the enquiry itself would cause damage if it were discovered.

So the default is minimal footprint. We ask for a phone number and nothing else. We do not require an account, an address or a name to have the first conversation. And we agree at the outset when it is safe to call and what happens if someone else answers.

What we do, in practice

  • We call from a discreet number. Not one that identifies the business on a screen or in a call history that someone else might see.
  • You choose the channel. Phone, WhatsApp or callback only. If one of those is unsafe for you, we do not use it.
  • You choose the timing. If there are hours when a call would be a problem, we do not call in them.
  • We agree what to say if someone else answers. A plain wrong number, or a neutral cover you are comfortable with.
  • Nothing is posted. No letters, no invoices, no documents to a home address unless you specifically ask.
  • We never make unprompted contact. No marketing, no follow-up sequences, no "just checking in" after a case closes.
  • Reports go where you say. To you, or directly to your lawyer, and nowhere else.

What happens to my information?

Short answer It is held only as long as the law requires, it is never sold or shared for marketing, and it is disclosed to a third party only on your instruction or where a legal obligation compels it. Your identity does not appear in the report and is never revealed to the person being investigated.

Enquiries that do not become cases are deleted rather than retained indefinitely. Case files are kept for the periods that Spanish law imposes on a licensed detective and on any business — the tax and commercial obligations do not disappear because a matter was sensitive — and then removed.

Confidentiality is not only a preference here; it is a professional duty attached to the licence. A detective who discloses a client's identity or a case's contents is risking the authorisation the whole practice depends on.

The formal detail — legal bases, retention periods, your rights under the GDPR and how to exercise them — is set out in the privacy policy.

Privacy of the person being investigated

There is a second privacy question that firms in this sector tend not to raise, and it matters as much as the first.

Spanish law requires a legitimate interest before any investigation begins. That protects the subject, and it protects you: evidence obtained without a lawful basis is not merely useless in court, commissioning it can expose the person who asked for it.

So every instruction is screened. We establish that there is a real legal, contractual, family or economic reason for the work. Where there is not, we say so and stop, and we do not charge for reaching that conclusion or look for a way around it.

We decline outright any instruction concerning a person protected by a court order, and any whose apparent purpose is harassment, control or intimidation. We do this even when the client is willing to pay, and we would rather lose the work than take it.

Common questions

About confidentiality

Can I contact you without giving my name?

Yes. The first conversation needs a number and nothing more. Identity becomes relevant only if you decide to instruct, because a legitimate interest has to be established before work begins.

What if my partner shares my phone or checks it?

Tell us on the first call and we work around it — a different number, agreed times, or WhatsApp only. It is a common situation and it is manageable, but only if we know.

Will my name appear in the report?

The report records what was established, not who commissioned it. If it is ever produced in proceedings, your role in instructing it is a matter for you and your lawyer rather than something disclosed on the face of the document.

Do you keep my file forever?

No. Enquiries that do not become cases are deleted; case files are kept for the periods Spanish law requires and then removed.

Could you be compelled to disclose my case?

A court order or a legal obligation overrides confidentiality for any professional, here as anywhere. Nobody can honestly promise otherwise, and a firm that does is either uninformed or lying to you.
