Short answer Investigations in Spain start from €1,200 plus VAT per case. We quote per case rather than by the hour, so the figure you agree at the outset is the figure you pay. Most cases settle above that starting point, depending on how long the work runs and how many investigators it needs.

Short answer Because an hourly rate tells you almost nothing about what a case will cost, and it puts the risk on you. Surveillance that needs a second operative, or a subject who leaves the province, turns an attractive hourly figure into a four-figure invoice nobody agreed to.
We price the case instead. We scope what actually needs to happen, quote a figure for it, and that is what you pay. If the case changes — the subject moves, a second vehicle is needed, the work turns out to be simpler than expected — we tell you before anything is spent, not after. You are never billed for hours you did not authorise.
This also means the quote is honest about scope. A firm quoting €50 an hour is not cheaper than one quoting per case; it is simply deferring the conversation about how many hours the job really takes.

Every case ends with a structured written report, in English, signed by the licensed detective and prepared so your lawyer can use it. That is not an extra: it is the point of the exercise.

The quote. We assess the case and give you a figure in writing before any work begins.
Cases we turn down. If the legitimacy check shows there is no lawful basis for the work, we say so and stop. We do not charge for reaching that conclusion, and we do not look for a way around it.

Common questions
Are private investigators expensive?
Relative to what they replace, usually not. A case starting from €1,200 plus VAT sits well below the cost of a contested hearing that fails for want of evidence, or a property purchase that goes wrong. The expensive outcome is almost always the one where nobody checked.
How does this compare with private investigator costs in the UK?
British firms typically quote by the hour, often per operative, which makes direct comparison difficult until the invoice arrives. The more important difference is not price but admissibility: a UK investigator working in Spain without a Spanish licence produces a report a Spanish court will not accept, whatever it cost.
Can you tell me the price before you know the case?
We can tell you the starting point — €1,200 plus VAT — and we can usually tell you within one conversation whether your case is near that figure or well above it. What we will not do is quote a number designed to get you off the phone and revise it upwards later.
What if the investigation finds nothing?
A documented absence of evidence is still a finding, and sometimes it is the finding you needed. You are paying for the work and the signed report, not for a particular outcome, and we will tell you at the quoting stage if we think the odds are poor.
Do you take cases outside Spain?
Our licence and our fieldwork are Spanish. For matters that cross a border we work with the instructing lawyer to define what can lawfully be done here, and we are clear about where our remit ends rather than promising coverage we cannot deliver.
